Toy Soldier

Hi

Thanks for popping in again....

Today we have a fab card – its from a kit I bought from Card Making Downloads last week and I just know it will make you smile!

This is an over the edge soldier easel kit

The kit has 5 sheets – 2 make the envelope, a single backing sheets and then the easel sheet and decoupage sheet

As in most of these kits I don't use the backing papers – I don't know why I don't – just can't see a need for them!

I printed the sheets to y matt photo paper and then stuck the easel sheet to a piece of white card stock and cut it out then scored on the fold lines.

I also stuck the stopper to white card before cutting that out – then stuck it in place with large sticky pads – this is so its got height to it which stops the easel from sliding closed.

I stuck the base layer of the soldier to bright red card and cut it out – then stuck a piece of the same red to the fold of the easel card rather than it just left white.

The decoupage is great to cut out as its so big and chunky – would be a great project for new crafters or children.

The decoupage was built up using the large sticky pads then the soldier was positioned so his feet were at the base of the card and his body stands over the edge....

To decorate I added glossy accents to his eyebrows and hair as well as belt buckle, and on the stopper the buttons.

Black enamel accents were used to make the eyes shiny and silver Cosmic Shimmer Pearl PVA glue was used for the tunic buttons....

A simple Just For You sentiment was matted onto the stopper.

And for the envelope, I cut the 2 sheets and scored and folded the panels, used double sided tape on the folds then run a pritt stick over then before attempting to stick the 2 sheets together so I could undo and redo if I needed to .

Every time I look at this soldier I smile – what a great effect from a card eh?

More tomorrow then....

x
