On Your Bike

Hello friends
Just as I said – I have got a few new cards made up using the lovely new cd from www.crafterscompanion.co.uk but I will save them for now
As you all know I love taking part in challenges – makes me think about what to do which is a good thing
So this card is made for the CD Sunday challenge blog
This weeks theme is “On Your Bike”
And the only rule is use a cd for something on the card and give credit
So – I used the decoupage and the backing paper from a lovely cd from www.peerlessdesigns.co.uk and the cd used is Through The Lens Ladies Edition
So materials for this card I used ….
Heat mat to work on and protect your surface – I always use it...
A4 dark blue card
A5 sheet black mirri card
A6 piece of silver kings foil
A6 piece of teal textured card
Swiss dots embossing folder
Cuttlebug
Foiled heart sentiment tag
large frosted pink button
2 punches
Flowersoft in lemon, red, moss green, white and tangerine
white fibres
Sticky pads
Eazi Score Board & tool
Tonic 8” guillotine
Scissors
Tweezers
Shaping tool from www.dimensionstamps.com
Foam shaping mat – stamping mat or even a mouse mat
To make the card …
I folded the dark blue card to make the easel base, measured how much I needed for the tag topper and cut from outside edge to the fold, then cut off half of the fold making a short easel
Using the cuttlebug, teal card and swiss dots embossing folder I embossed my sheet then gently rubbed over the top to remove some colour and give a distressed look.
I cut out the base image an matted it onto now embossed teal card then onto the silver kings foil – just leaving a narrow border around the edges.
After printing the chosen backing paper – there are several papers per image to chose from on the cd – I covered the front of the easel fold and also the base of the easel.
After the small amount of decoupage was cut out it was added to the main panel with tiny sticky pads. Then this was attached with double sided tape to the easel front.
Using a Tonic punch I punched 2 border strips using the black mirri card – these strips were stuck along the outer edges of the base easel
A wide strip of black mirri card was cut and placed in front of the large easel to act as a stopper – it was built up with large sticky pads and put in place
I used an EK success border punch to add a fancy edge to both long edges of the backing paper to fit on the black stopper – again I used large sticky pads to do this.
I had a few plain sentiments in my bit box so lightly coloured a With Love using an applicator tool that had been used earlier with pink ink...this was put on the stopper panel using sticky pads
I threaded some lovely white feathery fibres through a large frosted pink button then tied it on the top...a sticky pad was used to attach the button in front of the small easel to act as the stopper.
Finally on the topper I decided to use flowersoft on the flowers – so I used a mixture of sunny colours and sprinkled with glitter.
Just behind the front wheel was some grassy bits so I used a lovely green flowersoft on there – sorry the photo doesn't look too good for that shot!
And there we have it – my take on the On Your Bike Sunday Challenge
And its another card in the “to use or to sell box”
See you again tomorrow friends!
