Ohh La La

Hello
Well what a palava I have had with blogger.com I have no idea why it suddenly stopped letting me add photos then stopped me even getting in to it...thank goodness my friend Nicky is a whizz and got me set up with Opera that lets me do both!!!
The card for today is made using a lovely new cd I got this week – its by Ohh La La Crafting and called Yesterday's Memories. The cd is crammed to bursting point with the most colourful and usable sets of artwork...stunning sheets but then the backing sheets are some of the nicest I have seen on any cd – and believe me I have a lot myself....

So materials for this card I used ….
Heat mat to work on and protect your surface – I always use it...
Main image sheet
Basket weave backing paper
A4 black card
Piece of metallic blue card
Martha Stewart Optic Dot border punch
Martha Stewart corner punch
Pink & Blue 6mm ribbon
Selection of different gems
Sticky pads
Eazi Score Board & tool
Tonic 8” guillotine
Scissors
Tweezers
Shaping tool from www.dimensionstamps.com
Foam shaping mat – stamping mat or even a mouse mat

To make the card …
I started by folding the black A4 card in half to make my A5 card blank/
The backing paper was cut to fit the card front leaving a narrow border all round – then I punched the 4 corners with the Martha Stewart corner punch just cannot recall what it is called though sorry.
This was attached to the card with double sided tape.
Using the optic dot border punch I punched one side of the metallic blue card then measured where the main image panel would fit and punched the other side.
The main image was then stuck to the punched panel with double sided tape and after that fitted to the card front.
The pyramage is off centre so when I put the large sticky pads on the back of the layers I ran the pritt stick over the pads so I had more time to get lined up correctly.

Once all the panels were in place I added a plain and simple Happy Birthday sentiment to the bottom of the panel and tied 2 lengths of ribbon together to create a pretty bow – I left long tails of both ribbons and fixed the bow to the left side of the card using a clear sticky dot.
To finish I used gems – clear pointed AB gems in the 4 corners and silver pearls as the ear-ring and brooch centre as well as the dot of the i in the sentiment – and lastly 4 black gems as buttons on the blue dress with the same on her shoes!

And so there it is...a pretty card suitable for ladies of any age – and I chose the Happy Birthday but it would be great for all manner of events
See you again tomorrow with another card from another new cd I got in the week!
