Take Flight

Good afternoon

I have just made today’s card in around 10 minutes!

I am in a lot of pain just now, so struggling to concentrate, to sit for long, and to get motivated.

I have tried 5 or 6 things for something different today, a few are works in progress and the bin gratefully accepted the rest.

Last night I bought a magazine because I loved the free gifts which were a set of feather rubber stamps with a feather stencil and papers from craft work cards, so I decided I would try to use them. Added to that last week I had bought a step card cutting die made by Crafts Too so that was it!

I cut the main stepper card from white card then used purple card to cut out the mats for the middle and the 2 side strips and bottom strip.
I used a couple of my embossing folder, the one for the centre panel I have no idea where it came from nor who it s by – but I loved it! So I embossed the panel, and as it had dots around it I used a 6x6 dots embossing folder so I could do the 2 side panels and bottom panel all in one go. The stepper die also has the centre back panel which I also cut but didn’t thing to take a photo of.

In the set with the feather stamp was a lovely sentiment which I stamped into the panel on the front, I used Versafine purple ink and detail white embossing powder, heated up then the sentiment popped which looked lovely.
In a sister magazine there had been a die for a feather so I got that and found the die and stamp worked great together so I die cut half a dozen in purple card then carefully lined up the stamp, again using the purple ink, and then covered with the white detail embossing powder and heated.
I chose the best 3 and added them to the left side of the centre panel using a small piece of double sided tap to the top back of each feather.

Next I used one of Tim Holtz message tickets – I chose Soar – and simply rubbed the edges with purple ink pad and stuck at an angle along the bottom.

10 minutes for a quick and easy card that I really do like – can see me doing lots of these, would be lovely to send to friends as a Hello card..

See you again tomorrow
