Distressed Flowers

Hello again

This card was made after seeing a selection of cards in a magazine that had been made using one stamp yet all cards were totally different

Of course I just HAD to have the stamp set and when I found it was a Kanban set my hopes faded mainly due to the fact Kanban closed down and their stamps in particular are getting harder to get hold of

So I rang the craft shop that were featured in the magazine and left a message for a call back

A very chatty guy rang me the following morning and after I told him what I wanted he went off to look and did find me a set which he said he would pop in the post to me the next day – and once I received it to send the money off to him – isnt it lovely that some companies value a customer so much they can trust them to send off money

On to the card then...I used a sheet of dark brown card which I folded and created the A5 card blank.

I had printed off a few different brown backing sheets using a new cd I had bought Dreamees Back to Basics (well worth buying for the stunning papers)

So I used a dark brown striped paper and completely covered the whole card front then cut a piece of a lighter brown striped paper and stuck this going across to break up the stripes a bit.

I stamped the bunch of flower heads with black ink onto a piece of kraft card then when the ink had completely dried I trimmed the panel down and distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distress tool.

Before matting the kraft card panel onto dark brown card I used Tim Holtz distress ink pad Pumice Stone to ink on all the edges, this gave an old look to it

After the kraft panel was stick to the brown mat I stuck them to the main card using large sticky pads, I stuck the panel in the centre of the card which worked well as the panel of light brown paper was higher up the card

I used a Best Wishes stamp and black ink again to stamp onto a scrap of Kraft card then this was matted onto the brown and fixed in place with sticky pads across the top right hand corner of the stamped panel

Next I went onto to tie a bow using wide dark brown crushed silk ribbon, the tails were trimmed into a V to look more presentable

And to finish I simply pushed in place 3 decorative pins – the white pearl pin in the centre of the 3 has a gold coloured cut to hold the pearl but I cannot decide if I like it or not so took 2 very similar photos with just the pearl pin looking different – comments invited please!

And that's it – card finished!
