Robin In A Bauble

Hello

This is a lovely traditional christmas card – I know it was bought from www.craftsuprint.com but have no idea as to who designed it – it looks like an Ann-Marie Vaux to me but I could be totally wrong.

Its one of the many sheets I printed out to take with me when we went off to Malham last month but I only got around to making it up a few days ago...and that was mainly because I was 1 card short for the parcel of cards I was asked to make.

So materials for this card I used ….

Heat mat to work on and protect your surface – I always use it...

A4 red card stock

Decoupage sheet

Gold mirri card

Crafters Companion Spray & Sparkle Iridescent

Double sided tape

Sticky pads

Eazi Score Board & tool

Tonic 8” guillotine

Scissors

Tweezers

Shaping tool from www.dimensionstamps.com

Foam shaping mat – stamping mat or even a mouse mat

To make the card ...

Using the eazi score board I scored the red card on line 7 to create an A5 card but this design needed a 6x6 card so after folding into the A5 card I put it back on the board and score the card on line 7 again and cut away the card which was below the line – so now I have my 6x6 card blank.

I trimmed a piece of gold mirri card to fit on the card front but leaving a border of red all around it – this panel was stuck in place with double sided tape.

The image was cut out and then had double sided tape added to the back – the paper backing was removed and this panel was attached to the gold mirri panel.

On to the decoupage – I started out really good with cutting the branches but it all got too much so in the end I cut around them removing as much of the white back ground as I could

The decoupage layers were then covered on the back with tiny double sided sticky pads - the backings were removed and the decoupage positioned and pressed down firmly.

Rather than highlight the many places that needed to be glittered I chose to use the Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle glitter spray – I covered the entire front of the card in 2 or 3 short sprays

Once it was dry I added a red christmas sentiment to the bottom right corner to finish.

If you have a lot of cards to make up for Christmas then these are the idea sheets to use as its very little printing – its fairly easy to cut out – depending on your print settings you can print smaller so use smaller than 6x6 cards.

Whatever size – whatever colour main card and however you chose to decorate the finished card it will look super – just as this card does!

Did you manage to spot the deliberate error in yesterdays write up?

See you next time …

Wash Day

Hi

Sorry but its back to the Crafters Companion Beatrix Potter 10 cd set again

This card is what we did in class on Thursday – the images are from

Mrs Tiggy Winkle – I printed 3 different sheets but all along the same theme

Wash Day....

So materials for this card I used ….

Heat mat to work on and protect your surface – I always use it...

A4 white card stock

Decoupage sheet

Backing paper

Floral border from the cd

Gold mirri card

Piece of pink card stock

Martha Stewart bubble bath border punch

length pink spotty ribbon

4 silk flowers in 2 sizes

2 brads for flowers

punches leaves

printed sentiment

Sakura quickie glue pen

Glamour dust

Double sided tape

Sticky pads

Eazi Score Board & tool

Tonic 8” guillotine

Scissors

Tweezers

Shaping tool from www.dimensionstamps.com

Foam shaping mat – stamping mat or even a mouse mat

To make the card ...

After folding the cream card stock in half using the eazi score board and tool I cut a piece of gold mirri card to fit the card front leaving a border all round. This was stuck in place using double sided tape

Then I cut a piece if backing paper to cover the mirri again leaving a border – this too was stuck in place with double sided tape.

The gold mirri card left had a piece cut from it approx 4.5cm wide – attached this to the left of the card – it was positioned so it was lined up with the mirri on the base.

The pink card was also cut to 4.5cm and then punched down both long sides using the lovely bubble bath border punch – a piece of wider double sided tape was attached along the solid part of the panel and stuck on top of the gold mirri panel

I cut the floral paper so it was cut to either side of the flowers and attached with double sided tape to the centre of the panel

I tied a neat bow in the pink spotty ribbon and stuck to the top of the panel just added – I used a small length of red double sided tape – I cut it and stuck on my finger – started to remove the backing then folded the tape to attach on the reverse of the bow.

Now I cut the base layer from the decoupage sheet – I saved the decoupage as it can be used to create another card – then matted the base image onto gold mirri and cut to leave a border.

This was then attached to the card with double sided tape – it went nearer the bottom and the right hand side but did overlap the border panel at the left

A simple sentiment was matted onto a scrap of gold mirri and added at an angle at the bottom right side.

The silk flowers I used were from Poundland – they were bright red so I toned then down using a white ink pad – as the petals had grains it was ideal for inking them...

When I had done the 4 flowers I split into 2 flowers – 1 large and 1 small which had a pink brad pushed through to hold them together

It was Pinflare silicone gel that held these in place at the top right of the card – a few punched leaves in green card were slipped in here and there to finish.

Lastly I highlighted parts of the image with Sakura quickie glue pen then sprinkled with glamour dust.

Now let's see who pays attention to what I write!

I have made a deliberate mistake somewhere on this sheet – I will send one of these cards to the person who finds my error!!!!

See you the next time....

Beer Shack

Hi

This is such a cute card – its a kit that was bought from

www.card-making-downloads.com

and was designed by Macatelier

The kit contains 4 sheets, the card base, decoupage and 2 sheets for the envelope.

So materials for this card I used ….

Heat mat to work on and protect your surface – I always use it...

A4 dark blue card stock

The 4 printed sheets

PVA glue – I use Cosmic Shimmer

Sakura quickie glue pen

Glamour dust

Glossy Accents

Crafters Companion Stick & Stay

Double sided tape

Sticky pads

Eazi Score Board & tool

Tonic 8” guillotine

Scissors

Tweezers

Shaping tool from www.dimensionstamps.com

Foam shaping mat – stamping mat or even a mouse mat

To make the card ...

I roughly cut out the base image then sprayed the back of the sheet and after 30 seconds pressed it onto the sheet of dark blue card then carefully cut the design out

I scored along the centre line using the eazi score and tool the folded the card and ran the tool along it to sharpen the fold.

I cut out all the decoupage and used large sticky pads for the large areas and smaller ones for the fiddly areas.

Once the decoupage was added it was done to the sentiments and decorating the card which I did using glossy accents for sections of the bear, then black enamel accents for the nails all over the shed and finally quickie glue pen and glamour dust for the flower and other areas that seemed to scream glitter me lol

The kit came with lots of different sentiments which makes the card suitable for any occasion – we all say its hard to make a nice man's card – not with this kit I say!!!!

I know I cut back on the method but it really was quite straight forward plus my PC is being naughty and the rice pudding is smelling done....

See you the next time....

Thanksgiving

Hi again

Today I am sharing one of the cards I had to make for my lovely friend Ann – she wanted Halloween and Thanksgiving cards – I shared a couple of the Halloween cards so thought today would be a Thanksgiving day!

I bought this kit from www.cardmakingdownloads.com, its called OTT Thanksgiving kit and was designed by Craftystash

The kit has 5 sheets in all – the card base, insert, decoupage elements and 2 pieces for the envelope

So materials for this card I used ….

Heat mat to work on and protect your surface – I always use it...

A4 white card stock

The 5 printed sheets

PVA glue – I use Cosmic Shimmer

Sakura quickie glue pen

Glamour dust

Glossy Accents

Crafters Companion Stick & Stay

Double sided tape

Sticky pads

Eazi Score Board & tool

Tonic 8” guillotine

Scissors

Tweezers

Shaping tool from www.dimensionstamps.com

Foam shaping mat – stamping mat or even a mouse mat

To make the card ...

I roughly cut out the base image then sprayed the back of the sheet and after 30 seconds pressed it onto the sheet of white card then carefully cut the design out – I did the same with the full image on the decoupage sheet – this needed the card to support it as it was an over the top design.

I popped onto the Eazi Score Board and formed the crease down the marked line – folded the card and then ran the score tool over the crease to make it sharp.

It was then as simple as cut out all the decoupage elements and build up the design using sticky pads and shaping the top most pieces before adding the sticky pads

The sheets with envelope panels were cut out and all the score lines were done on the Eazi Score Board and sharpened using the tool...

Double sided tape was put onto 3 sides then when the back was peeled away I carefully lined the 2 pieces together

This then left just decorating the card which I did by picking out highlights with the quickie glue pen then covering with glamour dust

Glossy accents were also added to parts of the card

It goes without saying Ann was really pleased with the card and I am sure the person she has posted it off to will be thrilled with it to...

Back here tomorrow folks -

Hope to see you then....

Appley Dapply Birthday

Hello

I have the last of the Beatrix Potter cards I have made to share today.

This is a very special card and was made for a very special lady – my beautiful friend Jae who had a birthday on Sunday and deserved to receive something special – she has said how much she loved it so I feel it ok to share with my followers now

I used the Appley Dapply cd from the Beatrix Potter 10 cd collection – have to be honest and say I didn't even look through this collection when I first got it but after using sheets from one of the newer cds I just had to have a good look around this set...so many fab images to use.

So materials for this card I used ….

Heat mat to work on and protect your surface – I always use it...

A3 white card stock

A4 white card stock

A4 aqua card stock

Printed decoupage sheet

Printer sentiment sheet

A few backing papers

A4 & A5 pieces of silver mirri card

PVA glue – I use Cosmic Shimmer

Corner Chomper – any corner rounder will do.

A border punch that will go through thick card

Lots of assorted WHITE paper flowers

Adirondack POOL ink pad

Application tool for ink pads

Assorted hat pins

Aqua coloured ribbon

Clear AB gems

Butterflies were die-cut in white

Brown and aqua card candy

Double sided tape

Sticky pads

Eazi Score Board & tool

Tonic 8” guillotine

Scissors

Tweezers

Shaping tool from www.dimensionstamps.com

Foam shaping mat – stamping mat or even a mouse mat

To make the card ...

I used the eazi score board and A4 card – it was scored and folded on line 4 – A4 gatefold then spun around and scored the same at the other side – that made my gatefold card

I cut the A3 card in half long ways – then using one piece I folded it in half the the top piece in half again to create the easel.

Working first on the gatefold card I cut a piece of backing paper to fit inside the card and stuck in place with double sided tape

Then I cut 2 panels the same size from mirri card to fit on the gatefold doors – followed by 2 pieces of backing paper slightly smaller to fit inside the mirri card.

The base image was cut from the sheet and matted onto silver mirri card making sure I left an equal all round border – the panel was then attached over the 2 doors with double sided tape.

Decoupage was cut out and added to the image using small sticky pads and shaping the top most layers.

The whole card was then stuck to the folded front layer of the easel card – I used double sided tape and PVA to ensure it stuck well.

On the base of the easel I cut out and stuck silver mirri board so it almost covered the whole base then covered it with the same backing paper as the doors again leaving a narrow border.

I used another piece of silver mirri card to act as the stopper – it was placed on large sticky pads and positioned in place as the stopper.

Next I used a length of aqua coloured card and punched a border along both long sides and added large pads to the back before sticking centrally on to the silver mirri card

I cut out the sentiment panel with matched the main image – it had printed text along the bottom that wasn't appropriate for what I wanted so used a large Happy Birthday tag I already had to cover the sentiment.

I picked out all the flowers I would like to use – put them into position on the card and once happy I took them off one by one and coloured using the pool ink pad and ink applicator tool...

The butterflies were also coloured in the same way...

Before I stuck the flowers on the card I quickly sprayed then all with Perfect Pearls Mists in Pearl...blasted them with the heat gun to dry off then added to the card using Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to hold in place firmly....

Some of the flowers I left white and just sprayed pearl and some I coloured pool then used a brown pro marker to add spots.

The paper flowers in the top right corner of the gatefold card were already printed and coloured but they looked pretty with the rest.

The hanging flowers to the left of the gatefold were pure white so I sprayed with Aqua Lagoon Cosmic Shimmer Mist lightly then dried with the heat gun before draping so the colour wasn't transferred.

A pretty bow was tied and added below the topper and the butterflies were attached to the base card as were the hat pins.

To finish I added lots of clear AB gems to the shoe design and the bodies of both butterflies

Card candy was put in the centre of some flowers, corners of the topper and one corner of the gatefold card

I added a very personal verse to the base of the card

I am sure you will all agree it really is a special card – it took me a whole day to make!!!

Another fab card for you next time.

Hope to see you then....

A Beatrix Easel Card

Hiya

Ok then today I will be sharing the card I made from the 2 shaped toppers that were left on the sheet

Have to be honest here and say that I didn't rate my chances of coming up with anything looking at the toppers – they were long but narrow.

But I did it...

The printed sheet was taken from a Crafters Companion CD Rom called Beatrix Potter Everyday & Winter

I have used 3 different backing papers that were actually taken from a Kanban CD Rom called Kanban Stamped Backgrounds – why it has such a title I don't know as it is the most beautiful backing papers - now I have seen it I know it will get a whole lot of use as the papers come in lots of colour ways and styles so ideal for all occasions.

So materials for this card I used ….

Heat mat to work on and protect your surface – I always use it...

White 7” x 5 scallop card blank & an A5 piece white card stock

Printed topper sheet

3 different backing papers

Oddments of dark blue card stock

Oddments of mirri card in silver and blue

PVA glue – I use Cosmic Shimmer

Glamour dust

Corner Chomper – any corner rounder will do.

2 Christmas tree punches

Snowflake punch

Silver cosmic shimmer

A red and a blue stickles

Light Blue and Silver metal magic

Versamark ink pad

Heat gun

Tidy tray & brush

Double sided tape

Sticky pads

Eazi Score Board & tool

Tonic 8” guillotine

Scissors

Tweezers

Shaping tool from www.dimensionstamps.com

Foam shaping mat – stamping mat or even a mouse mat

To make the card ...

I scored the scalloped card using the eazi score on line 4 which is A4 gate fold – this forms the basic easel card

I rounded the corners of the A5 piece of white card using the corner chomper then stuck this to the folded front of the easel card using double sided tape – I made sure I didn't add tape to far up or it would have shown behind the panel

I did the base first – using one of the backing papers I cut it to fit the base leaving a narrow border – then rounded the corners and stuck in place with double sided tape..

The blue mirri was cut to size with a wide border then rounded the corners and stuck in the centre of the base with double sided tape – the same was done with a small piece of the backing paper

Onto the image – I cut it out then stuck it to a piece of blue mirri card with double sided tape – cropped it and rounded the corners then added 2mm sticky pads to the back and put to a side for now...

Next it was crop the silver mirri card so it left an even border around the bottom layers – corners rounded and 2mm sticky pads added to the back – the backings were removed and the panel was stuck in place followed by the image panel

Because these 2 panels were on sticky pads they formed the perfect stopper for the easel card.

Onto the top of the card now

Backing paper was trimmed to size – corners rounded and stuck in place.

Using a scrap of dark blue card I cut a piece as wide as the card and around 5cms – corners were rounded and this was stuck across the centre of the card

The last scrap of silver mirri was just the right size to take the shaped topper but this panel was fixed in place over the dark blue strip with 1mm sticky pads.

Using a scrap of white card I tapped the versamark ink pad on it several times in the same place then covered with light blue metal magic and heated underneath till it melted the did the same using the silver metal magic.

I used the large tree punch to punch 2 trees from the blue and 2 from the silver metal magic then used the small tree punch and did 4 in silver and 4 in the light blue.

I added them all below the image on the top of the easel with tiny sticky pads.

The snowflake punch was used with blue mirri card to punch a dozen snowflakes – these were scattered across the top of the panel.

To decorate I use the glues and glamour dust to highlight the snowy areas on both panels

The silver cosmic shimmer was used to create the snowflake centres

And finaly the red and blue stickles were lightly dabbed across the christmas trees

And that concluded the 4 great cards from just 2 sheets of images!!!

Another fab card for you next time.

Hope to see you then....
