Vintage Shabby Chic

Hello

If you were paying attention a few days ago I shared with you a printer/graze box that I had been sent as part of a swap

Beth kindly made me the beautiful christmas box which I really loved – and judging by all the messages I have had – so did you

Well I said I had mine in the making – Beth had requested Vintage Shabby Chic

Phew – not quite as easy as I thought

But with a few ideas from my friends I had in my mind just what I wanted to do

I rummaged through a drawer where I pop all the fab dies cuts people cut and share with me and came across the main cut and embossed panel that I put left front – and a die cut butterfly fitted perfectly in the cut out window

All the die cuts used on the tray were white – and I used Tim Holtz ink pads in Vintage Photo and Tea Dye to shade and colour them

The papers were all from Debbi Moore Shabby Chic Butterflies and Flowers – its her newest set of cds and its beautiful – I cannot recommend this high enough...

Im not going into detail of how I made and decorated the tray as you can see from the photographs

The majority of die cuts were Cheery Lynn, Memory Box, Marianne Dies and the big flowers under acetate I cut myself using my Bigz daisy cut

When I came to glitter the butterflies I got into a real mess, I was using the Sakura quickie glue pen then dipping the wing in glitter – after just 2 I gave up

Then I tried a way I thought might work but would be messy.

I added a good sized blob of Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue to my non stick sheet then sprayed it with water, using my finger I had the 2 mixed together so dipped a wing at a time in the watered glue then dropped the butterfly into my tub of glitter and left until they dried, and they looked super! Heavily glittered and coloured too..

The glitter I am using is called Craft Time by Trim Craft – its very similar to Glamour Dust – but its a double sized bottle and half the price – and I love how it gives out a hint of colour when the light hits it.

Right then, that's it from me for tonight – I have to post off the tray tomorrow and I will keep everything crossed that Beth likes it as much as I do!!!

I think I might just have a go at another...any ideas or suggestions???

x
